Privacy Policy

The short version

• Nostalgia TV Room has no accounts and doesn't collect personal information from you or your children.
• Favorites and settings are saved only on your device.
• Videos play in YouTube's official embedded player. YouTube (Google) handles that playback under the Google Privacy Policy.

Who we are

Nostalgia TV Room ("the app", "we") is a video player for families, available on the web and for iPhone and iPad. Questions about privacy: nostalgiatvroom@gmail.com.

What the app stores, and where

The app saves your settings on your own device (in the browser's local storage, or inside the iPhone/iPad app): which shows are turned on, favorites, any YouTube links you add, and a list of videos that didn't play on your device, so the app can skip them. We never receive this information. Deleting the app, or clearing the website's data, erases it.

YouTube API Services

The app uses YouTube API Services (YouTube's embedded player) to play videos. When a video plays, YouTube and Google may collect information such as your device's IP address, device and browser details, and viewing activity, and may use cookies or similar technologies. YouTube may show ads. That collection is controlled by Google, not by us, and is described in the Google Privacy Policy. By using the app you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

The app doesn't sign you in to Google and doesn't ask for access to any Google account, so there is no access to revoke. If you ever connect a Google account to a YouTube service yourself, you can review and remove access at Google's security settings page.

Our website and hosting

Our website and the video relay page used by the iPhone/iPad app are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information (like IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. Our web pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts download. We don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting.

Suggestion board (website only)

The website version has an optional public suggestion board. If you post, we store the first name you type (optional) and your message, and anyone using the website can see them. To limit spam, your IP address is kept for about one minute and then deleted automatically. Please don't post personal details. The iPhone and iPad app doesn't include the board. To have a post removed, email us.

Children's privacy

The app is designed to be set up by a parent and used by children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and the app contains no accounts, chat, or sign-in. Parent settings are protected by a grown-ups-only question. If you believe we have information about your child, contact us and we will delete it.

Sharing

We don't sell or share personal information, because we don't collect it. The only third parties involved are YouTube/Google (video playback), Cloudflare (hosting), and Google Fonts (website fonts), as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
