Getting into Parent settings

On the home screen, tap ⚙️ Parent settings at the bottom. In the iPhone and iPad app, answer the grown-ups-only math question on the number pad and tap ✓.

A show won't play or is missing

Some channels block their videos in certain countries, or remove them. The app skips those videos without an error. To tidy up ahead of time, open Parent settings and tap Check all shows. Anything that can't play on your device gets hidden from the kids' screen. The app checks again on its own after a week, since channels change their settings.

Adding your own shows

In Parent settings, use Add a show: type a name, paste a YouTube video or playlist link, pick a picture, and tap Add. A playlist link gives random episodes. Use the show's official channel when you can.

Ads before videos

Nostalgia TV Room has no ads of its own. The videos come from YouTube, and YouTube may show its own ads.

Keeping little ones in the app

On iPhone and iPad, turn on Guided Access (Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access), open Nostalgia TV Room, and triple-click the side or home button to lock the device to the app.
